Preventing mental health problems emerging should have as much focus as treating exsisting problems. With the pressures of modern life, schools and parents are reporting far greater incidents of depression, anxiety, self harm and eating disorders in their teens during the last decade.
We would like to see which kinds of early intervention may have a positive impact on teenager mental health and have included lesson content which explores the ideas of Mindfulness and how you can manage your own stressful situations. These activities can be run during a single lesson or broken up and run through several tutorial slots – feedback indicates this can be particularly effective for exam year students to refresh and revitalise them during the school day.
